TitleRossitor family cottage in Seaford DescriptionThe original 4 roomed cottage built by the Rossitor family in Seaford on Crown allotments 75, 76, 77, which was 92 acres of farmland. The cottage was built in the clap board style with square edges and galvanised iron roof. The peppercorn tree was planted in the 1880's. Ship's canvas was used for the ceilings and then painted with a mixture of lime and milk to make a hard surface. The walls were wooden lathes covered with wire and then hessian and then papered. The pattern was usually of huge pink or blue roses on a white background.
