Newspapers
The Frankston Library local newspaper collection dates back to 1877. Our papers from 1877 to 1944 are stored on microfilm.
These papers are also available online through the National Libraries digital platform Trove.
The Frankston Library archive of Local Newspapers from 1944 to the present are in paper format. We are in the process of digitising our paper collection. This is due to both the fragile nature of our historic newspaper collection and difficulty of access. We began our digitisation project in 2016. It is a time consuming process and each year we digitise a portion of our collection. We have currently digitised our newspaper collection from 1956-1988. Our digitisation project is ongoing.
Information about our digitised newspapers is available below. The digital copy of the newspaper can be accessed in the Frankston Library. Due to copyright restrictions we are not able to provide this digital copy online. This copyright restriction applies to all newspapers published after 1954.
